The youth around the Diocese have been busy embracing the Way of Love this summer through their participation in mission trips, community service projects, and volunteering at VBS. These pictures show a small glimpse of the experiences they had serving in local, domestic and international communities.
Towel Ministry
Church of the Transfiguration offered Towel Ministry camp for high school students this summer. Towel Ministry has a 40 year history in this Diocese but this was the first year it was offered in Saluda.
VBS
Many of our youth helped at their local VBS this summer but we are spotlighting St. Paul's Wilkesboro. Youth participated in prepping for the week and leading programs for the children.
International Mission Trips
Trinity Episcopal Church and All Soul's Cathedral youth both spent time this summer building community with their neighbors to the south, in Cuba. They had the opportunity to serve in local communities, experience Cuban culture and build relationships with the wider Church.
Domestic Mission Trip
Youth from St. Mark's in Gastonia went to Chicago on their mission trip and served at food pantry's, helped with VBS and learned about the history of Chicago.
Thank you to all of the youth leaders, chaperons and volunteers who made these trips possible.
