Lake Logan Welcomes Laura Elliot as Executive Director

Dear friends in Christ,

After an extensive national search, we are delighted to announce that Laura Elliot has accepted the call to serve as the next Executive Director of Lake Logan, effective January 16, 2024. Laura is a seasoned and dynamic leader who has been recognized for her excellence in community engagement, youth and outdoor leadership, grant writing and implementation, and environmental stewardship. Beyond all this, Laura is faithful in her Episcopal roots, full of compassion and resilience, and committed to the mission of the Church. We are confident she will lead Lake Logan to new heights of success and impact.

As the new Executive Director, Laura will oversee the strategic direction, operations, and finances of the Lake Logan Retreat Center, Camp Henry, and the Outdoor School. She will also lead the implementation of our strategic and master plans, which will aim to enhance our facilities, programs, and services to meet the evolving needs and expectations of our guests. Laura will work closely with the board, staff, partners, guests, and parishes to ensure that we deliver memorable, high-quality, and affordable camp and conference experiences. We cannot wait to see the amazing ways Lake Logan will continue to grow under her leadership.

There are so many reasons to give thanks as this announcement is made, but it is important to specifically thank Eden Lewis, who agreed to lead Lake Logan over this time of transition as Interim Executive Director. Please join the Board of Directors in extending thanks for her dedication and care over Lake Logan this last year.

Together, let us welcome Laura to the Lake Logan family.  You can reach out to Laura at laura@lakelogan.org. We are excited to have her on board and look forward to working with her to make Lake Logan the best it can be as we continue to live into the gift God has given us to steward. Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to Lake Logan. We hope to see you at the lake in the coming new year!

Blessings,

The Rt. Rev. José A. McLoughlin, VII Bishop of the Diocese of Western North Carolina

John Roberts, Lake Logan Board Chair
