By Tom Scott, Senior Warden at Transfiguration
We are pleased to announce that the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, Bat Cave, has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the Episcopal Foundation of Western North Carolina. The vestry for the Episcopal Church of The Transfiguration, Bat Cave worked diligently to complete the application process. Rector Fr. John Roberts and senior warden Tom Scott presented to the Episcopal Foundation of Western North Carolina on February 6th, 2024.
The grant request was presented to seek financial support for replacing our church parking lot, which has been in shambles for several years. Now, with this help from the Episcopal Foundation of Western North Carolina, Tarheel Paving is scheduled to redo our parking lot in late April 2024.
The Foundation operates under its own independent charter, and the members of the Board of Directors are elected at the annual convention of the Diocese. The Foundation uses the income from its investments to make grants up to $20,000 for charitable, educational, religious, and scientific purposes in support for parishes and institutions in the WNC diocese.
The Parishioners of the Church of the Transfiguration, Bat Cave extend our gratitude and appreciation to The Episcopal Foundation of Western North Carolina for their generous support.
