About The Event
Dismantling Racism Workshop is for clergy and lay leaders who need to satisfy the canonical requirements for anti-racism training. The training is limited to 24 people and we ask that no more than six people per church attend the event. Thank you!
The retreat will take place on Zoom on Friday evening, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. at All Saints, Gastonia. Please note that in order to receive a certificate for this training you must attend the entire event.
Throughout the retreat you will have the opportunity to look at racism through the lens of faith, our nation's history, our privileges, and our internalized oppression. The purpose of this course is not to "train you" to be "less" racist but to invite you to examine personal experiences and internal perspective on racism in America.
